At Mad Hatter Locks we create Dreadlocks using the crochet method. No wax, gel, glue or products are used.

First, we section the hair into squares or triangles, typically in a 'brick-laying' pattern so the Dreadlocks fall in between each other. The size of the sectioning will depend on your hair thickness, type and your desired look you want to achieve.

Then, we take each section of hair, back brush it and using a crochet hook to weave individual strands of hair around until it forms a tight, neat Dreadlock.

To safely do the crochet method hair needs to be clean and dry. 

Having new Dreadlocks can be a timely process and can be painful on the scalp depending on your level of sensitivity.
